Vegas was terrific! Not too hot ... not too too cold... it just right. :)

Rather than leaving late Friday night, we opted to drive out early Saturday morning, which turned to be the right decision since there were a whole lot of accidents the night before. The drive was fairly traffic-free and went by pretty quickly due to the on flight entertainment of "OLD SCHOOL" and "BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE" due to Carlene and Sonny's newest hi-techie personal DVD player.

4 hours later, we were finally in Vegas (Baby!). "Where's the slots! I want my Maitai!" Wait wait wait... we stopped at my Tita Rita's place where the moment we walked through the door, we were bombarded with food, then it was off to my Tita Themis's house where more family came and we ate some more and played with my cousins.

Carlene and I with our cousins:
Once cutest baby, but now cutest 2 year old Thea, Esther who was ALWAYS bored, and Stewie, who rocks at "Stop Dance."

Even Penelope joined in on the Vegas Fun... sorta.
But isn't she adorable in her new wannabe Burbury Bag?

While my Mom and Tita Ne spent outrageous amounts of money at the outlet shops and watching MAMA MIA, Carlene, Sonny and I decided to stay home with the kids and rest it up before going out in the evening. When we finally woke up from our naps and got ready, we drove down to the Strip where we met up with my favorite "past govenor under 5'4", darling Pic over at the Venitian's GRAND LUX CAFE for dinner. The table next to us was actually a Wedding Reception, complete with a two tiered wedding cake AND old men sleeping at their seats. Pic and Sonny wanted to start clinging their glasses in order to make the couple kiss, and resisted the urge to pin a dollar onto the Bride via money dance. I guess that's how it is in Vegas. At least the bride wasn't in her dress carrying a tray trying to get Mashed potatoes from underneath a sneezeguard barrier at the buffet. That would be surreal.

After dinner, we went over to The Palms where we met up with Pic's friend, Emily, with hopes of getting into "Rain." HA. After standing in line for about an hour and 45 minutes, we learned that there was an estimated 2 more hours of waiting. Oh my gosh, 4 hours in line for 1 hour in the club.... no thank you! So we headed back to the Venitian and played at "Venus" where we waited about 10 minutes and got to dance on the supercool "Saturday Night Fever-esque" glowing dancefloor. :)

Once we were finished, we drove back to my Tita Themis's place, only to get lost due to a road closure. But after an hour, 1 Krispy Kreme, 2 gas stations with completely clueless attendants, and a man standing by, who was nice enough to give directions we were finally "home." Vegas streets are weird. Really.

Woke up early this morning again, had breakfast and played peek-a-boo with this bedhead cutie...

And it was back on the road. One stop for gas and outlet shopping (of course) and we were finally home. Had dinner and knocked out. Slept through the Oscar fashions... but learned it all later courtesy of E!Online. :) Goodnight!

Today, Carlene and I took Tita Ne to Universal Studios. When we arrived, we noticed a group of people holding signs down in Citywalk... convinced that it was a protest of some sort (because you know there's protesters at Citywalk all the time ;P), we walked over to see what the commotion was. Well, instead of a protest, it was a rally for Props 57 and 58 with our very own Govenor Schwarzenegger. Wow. We also got some free hotdogs and drinks. Did someone say SCORE!?!

"I can't see the Terminator"
-Kid in front of me while waiting for Arnold to make his appearance.

Anyways, after seeing Rob Lowe and Arnold, it was time to go into the park. Even though the last time I had gone to the park was over a year ago, there was still a bunch of new things for us to experience.

When Carlene and I saw Spongebob, we literally started screaming his name and running after him.

Grrr...?

The day was going pretty terrific until we got off the Studio Tour Tramride , it got SO cold and started raining. But at least the rain didn't last very long... the coldness was another story. Add my killer cramps into the picture I wasn't a very happy camper... but I stuck it through and survived. :) At least when we rode Jurassic Park, we didn't get very wet. I swear, that drop in the end of that ride is heartstopping. I seriously screamed "Ohh my gosh" took a breath and continued screaming "Oh Sh*t!" it was THAT long of a drop.

Oh about that Tramride, they totally "improved" it. :) Well, despite no longer having the EARTHQUAKE attraction. I know. Tragic... I used to be so freaked out by Earthquake. When that subway train would come and crash, I always thought that flying debris would come and strike me in the eye rendering me blind. But, alas, its gone. As is Conan the Barbarian. You remember Conan right? Before he was Govenor, he had a big sword and wore Uggs before they were trendy. That was a good show. *sigh* But at least they still got banana breath KING KONG. OH and Jaws... an oldie but always a goodie.

Since my mom had gotten tickets for us from her work, we weren't able to cash in on the free season pass offer. Boo. But Carlene and I definitely want to go back since it seems like the park is always evolving to shamelessly promote their newest flims...

After watching the Animal Planet Show and realizing that Penelope needs some hardcore training to become the next Lassie, we had dinner at Buca with an overzealous waiter who was friendly enough, but enjoyed dancing at the end of the table as we ate. Crazy. But at least the special was "Lenten friendly."

Oh speaking of, for those I haven't called, I gave up AIM for Lent. That's why I'm not online. I didn't change my SN nor did I block you. Get over yourself. ;) Plus its been something I've been thinking about. I dunno, I feel like I've lost touch with "real conversation" and had become lazy with "keeping in touch." So, drop me a line so that I can whisper sweet nothings into the phone for you. Then you can tell me about your day. Its only fair. You read this. I ought to know what's happening with you. :) Right? Right.

:) Nightynight darlings.

For Christmas, my Kris Kringle Melissa got exactly what I had wanted on my wishlist. 1) A Starbucks gift card and 2) 2 tickets to see Jane Monheit in Concert. While I have about $1.52 left on the gift card, I finally got to use the tickets tonight.

IT. WAS. FAN-F*CKING-TASTIC. :) She sang a bunch of songs from her albums and then some. Beautiful voice. Just beautiful... and exactly what she sounds like recorded. You know how sometimes you can listen to an album and they're great, but once seen live you realize that the studio has done A LOT of work on it, well this certainly wasn't the case. The band was amazing. Serious, that saxophonist was awesome. Ear candy all around. I had a huge smile on my face and goosebumps the entire time... and for that hour and a half, I was in absolute music heaven.

Since my mom was having some "post-PINKs" stomach problems, and Carlene had school, my Tita Ne was the lucky recipient of the extra ticket. I think she liked it, considering that I'm gonna have to burn her all my CDs for her. :) I didn't know that at the theater you needed to have a table reservation and all "general seating" was really standing room in back next to the bar. But the maitradee was super sweet and got us a table that was close to the stage.

:) What a great night. I just want to soak myself in the music and let it surround me in this little bubble of happiness all the time... Thanks so much Melissa for one of the bestest Christmas gifts ever. :)

This morning, just before my mom and Aunt left for their "Day at the Getty" excursion, probably inspired by the little girl at Disney who told her that her Mom let her skip school to go to DCA yesterday, my mom turned to me and said "Why don't you ditch school and come with us!" My aunt chimed in, "Come! Come!" So, of course, I went. :)

When we arrived, it wasn't raining at all so there really wasn't any worry as to getting wet or anything, but after an hour, it started drizzling. Going to the Getty in the rain wasn't so bad considering that they provide guests with umbrellas to use. Pretty exciting I thought. Since this was my Aunts first time to the Getty, she took off and explored while after reacquainting myself with some of my favorite paintings and salivating over the new William Garnett and Eugène Atget photos, Mom and I sat with our cup of cocoas and immersed ourselves in Getty education.

After the museum, we went over to Pink's for dinner, where to our suprise, there was no line! Unfortunantly though, by the time we were ready to drive home, it was traffic galore. Darn. But a nice day nonetheless.

*Hi Kristine! I HAVE YOUR MOM! Wish you were here! I TOLD YOU TO HIDE IN HER SUITCASE!!*

My Tita Ne is here visiting from the PI, and so of course we HAD to take her to Disneyland. Actually, since she had gone to Disneyland many times before, my mom took her to California Disney Adventure instead, were I met up with them after work.

Happy Happy...

Good gracious why did we go on this?!
**Actually, we didn't go on the scary moving cage of the Ferris wheel.
We were just making fun of the poor kid who was crying in one that was next to ours**

I think the last time I went to Disneyland with my mom was probably 5 years ago, so it was a nice little feeling to drag her to all the "cool" places... Although I couldn't get her onto the big "California Screaming" coaster seeing that she was already nauseous from riding the smaller one. Luckily, my Aunt was up to the challenge. :) The thing is was that she was already eying the ride before I had arrived and when she asked me how it was I said "It's ok..." so I thought she could "handle" it.

The moment went got in and the ride went off, I heard her emit a mini groan of terror.
Me: Are you OK?!
Tita Ne: I HATE you Nicole.

Really. She said that. *Gasp*

But she survived and after 15 minutes of "sitting and drinking water" she was perfectly fine. She told me over and over again that she hated me, but really I know she loves me. :) I kept both my mom's and aunt's feet on the sweet firm ground after that, so we played Millionaire and checked out the "BUGS LIFE" 3D movie where my mom screamed Filipino obscenities when she was poked by a bug. It was also quite a scene to see them groping the wooden seat afterwards to try to figure out the effects.

Awww, I wish I could go to Disneyland with my Mom and Aunt all the time. :) They were so cute and fun...

I'm going snowboarding for my very first time next weekend and I seriously don't have anything to wear. I need "snow" clothes. Stuff to keep me warm when I'm crying in the snow after I have fallen over. Something that will prevent me from getting sick after being abandoned by my snowboarding pro sister and her Canaidian boyfriend who grew up with below freezing winters. I need real gloves because I don't think my pink gap mittens are gonna hack it when I need to dig myself out of a snowditch.

As you can see, I have really bright prospects about going on this trip.

:) Actually, it shouldn't be TOO bad. I'm just nervous about clamping my foot onto a board and going down a mountain on it without anything to hold on to. I'm scared about going on the chairlift because apparently theres no seatbelt to keep me in as it sways to and fro.

I'm such a wuss. But at least its something new that I'm trying and who knows, maybe I'll like it and someday get my own Hello Kitty snowboard. :)

I wonder if its possible to just sit on your board and slide down the hill?

As I was driving down that one lane mountain section of the 71, listening to A Touch of Honey's "BOOGIE OOGIE OOGIE", I had my little sunshade/vanity mirror down in order to fix my hair and make cutesy faces to myself to heighten my self-esteem. The music was loud, the lip gloss went on and I had my AC on to high for that JLO video hair affect. It was GOOD TIMES in the car.

When the song was over, I flipped the shade up and looked into my rearview mirror to see the guy in the car behind me give me the "OK" signal with his hand.

I laughed and I cringed. I was also flattered to know that if needed, the back of my head can put on an "OK" show for those who tailgate. I'm just grateful that he wasn't next to me because then I would really be embarrassed to look over and see him laughing his ass off. Once I was actually dancing in my car when a truck full of gardeners pulled up to mine and stared as I proceeded to give a Star Search worthy performance of Madonna's "MATERIAL GIRL". As you can imagine, they all laughed and I was horrified. I was also in traffic so I really couldn't go anywhere but sit there and suddenly become enthralled with the radio dials. Red. Buttons. Numbers. OooO.

Awww... his name is John! Mr Big's name is John!!

April and Janelle came over so that we can all experience the finale of SEX IN THE CITY together... as well as some experimentation with a brand new shaker and martini recipe. (Creme Brulee Martini... check!) Janelle decorated a little bundt cake in honor of the finale that everyone has been waiting for and we all got misty eyed during the last five minutes. Awww... everyone happy though. I'm gonna miss it! The clothes, the plots, the crazy conversations and most of all, the characters. They were my Sunday night dates that never stood me up. So "thank you" to the SEX for teaching me so so so much about life, love, and friendships. And since you really can't help but feel like you can related to the characters, "thanks" my own girlfriends who help me have a "life" by making it so much more exciting and of course just for being terrific, sexy friends who I can absolutely depend on. :)

*happy sigh*

This morning, I went to the "Festival of Brides" show over at the Ritz in Pasadena. At first when I started talking with vendors, I would introduce myself as a coordinator... and although they were professional and open with me, I noticed I wasn't getting their full "sell", so I moved my ring onto my left hand and proudly boasted that I was a bride to be who was just recently engaged and just looking around for some idea. Goodness, it was much easier after that... I came home with loads of cards, pamphlets, DVDs, and chocolate. Now I just gotta sort and file.... The show itself was a lot of fun and they have a LOT of goodies just being passed around. Sweets there was flowing like the chocolate fountain that was sitting in the corner. Cakes, truffles, chocolate covered strawberries... who knew that a Bridal show could be a sweet-tooth's heaven?! Anyways, on the stage, they had a band showcase their talent which included a short white guy in a tux rapping to Outkast's "I Like the Way You Move." I guess he must be really big for weddings. Imagine having your aunts and uncles making their way to the dance floor once DJ Scottie grabs the mic and raps:

"I said a hip hop the hippie the hippie
to the hip hip hop, a you don't stop
the rock it to the bang bang boogie say up jumped the boogie
to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat "

I once went to a dinner dance where the band actually had an old guy rap to "Gansta's Paradise" (Is that Gansta's or Ganster's?) But if I remember correctly, people danced and enjoyed it. And they were my aunts and uncles... so I'm sure "Rappers Delight" wouldn't be a problem with them.

Janelle called earlier today to see if I was interested in accompanying her to go to this art show over in LA to meet with Paolo. "Sure" I said. I didn't have any plans plus this was a good way of getting a little "culture" into my humdrum life. She also said something about dancing and drinking afterwards... so we were off to Zen Sushi near Glendale.

The show itself was from a bunch of former graffiti artist who now work in the industry but still practice their art. Seeing that a good majority were 1) Filipino and 2) from the Diamond Bar, Chino Hills, Pomona area... it was still quite surprising to see a lot of familiar faces. Seriously. (If everyone is from the area, why didn't they keep it in the area? Like at the Max Chicken or something. I dunno...) The complaint I had during the "show" was that the lighting in the room was rather dim and didn't properly showcase the art... but oh wells. They later turned off the lights anyways in order to resume the club atmosphere. I guess the art was a terrific excuse to get people to get together, drink, and dance...

I met a guy named Ken.

What a sweetie...

Too bad he's gay.

Jean and Sakura came over a bit after their dinner and we all gawked at the weird Filipino "art" that they were showing on the screen while dancing. Unfortunately, after they left, the DJ started playing some REALLY REALLY good music... (Can I just say that I really do like the new Usher song where he sing "YEAH" over and over again? Normally I despise him because of his likeness to a certain a""hole, but the song is so gosh darn catchy that all the a""hole resemblance sort of melt away. But yeah, damn thats a HOT song.) "We're leaving in 5 minutes" turned into an hour and all of a sudden it was last call. We didn't even need to implement our backup plan of going to Hollywood... or across the restaurant to the gay club. :)

Awww...Isn't the rain delicious!? Sure its dangerous as it is to be driving in it, but everything is much more brighter and colorful at night. The street just glows when it rains. I love walking in the rain* wearing contacts. Wearing glasses, you'd have to constantly wipe them down and they end up getting fogged up or wet again. Walking in the rain* is totally worth the frizzy hair. And that shall conclude my overly dramatic, wishywashy, romantic sap of a paragraph.

(*given that you're properly covered up and/or have a destination where you know there will be a heater)

One for the money, two for the rhyme... this is rollcall who's on the line...
... Hey I'm Nicole and I'm here to say, I love fruity pebbles in a major way.

Oh the memories... ;)

Quiet night of quiet stars... its one of those nights. No complaints over here though. :) Actually, it will be very quiet here this weekend since the family is going up north to pick up my Tita Ne visiting from the PI and since I have Festival of Brides on Sunday, I'm staying and will be home alone. Can someone say "partay!?!" Yeah right, Carlene just steamcleaned the carpet. The puppy isn't allowed to go on it, let alone another band. I do still have a shelf of alcohol left over from the post-Christmas gathering though. No one has touched it. I really can't drink at home. What's the point? I drink, I get happy, and I proceed to dance in my room with my winamp turned up to full blast only to start freaking a wall and making out with a teddy bear. Like you need alcohol to do that...

Speaking of bears... I was watching Fox tonight. Oh goodness, first off all, they had a show called "MAN VS. BEAST" where at the moment I was watching it, they had a sprinter (man) and a dog (beast) compete against each other to see who can jump the farthest. I think the dog beat him by a foot... seriously. The man jumped 26 feet... while the dog got 27. How can you look yourself in the mirror after such a defeat?! What was great about it was that the "commentator" was remarking on how the dog looked very "focus." Is there another way a dog could possibly look when you're dangling a toy in front of his face? I didn't think so.

Anyways, I had to change the channel. There was much more meaningful TV that I could set my eyes upon. Then the Primetime edition of the Crucifixion was beckoning and really, how can you say "no" to that? But when I flipped back to Fox, it was Celebrity Spelling Bee. Corbin Bernsen... I really don't remember you from your stint from LA LAW (but I do remember the opening sequence along with the theme song) but you really are making an impression to me with your performances in Celebrity Mole Hawaii AND Celebrity Mole Yucatan. I didn't realized I missed you, Crazy Corbin, until I flipped the channel and found you there spelling "Jagermeister". It was like Christmas came early for me... well not really. But it was nice seeing him "think" again. If only he had Stephen Baldwin with him...

I think this puppy is a 3 parter... so if you're interested, you can probably catch it on your local FOX channel sometime next week. Then rent "SPELLBOUND" and see how the kiddies rank against likes of Alice Cooper and Alan Thicke.

*Show me that smile again...*

Yeah, I wanna dance with somebody... with somebody who loves me.

Ah... Whitney was so wise and happy back in the day. Damn that Bobby.

The other day, I met this guy who at first glance, seriously had the most gorgeous eyes. But later as I continued to stare and study them, they got more and more "brilliant" and basically became freakishy bright to me. In the end, I couldn't look at him anymore because his eyes were scaring me. Does this make any sense? It should. It makes perfect sense to me. :P

Bloggity blog blog...

I got the cutest purse today. Really, its the most adorable purse. :)

I realized that my hair is looooong. I think this is the longest I've ever had it. When I was younger, whenever it would grow past my shoulders, my dad would have me cut it. I don't know why... my dad had a thing against long hair. But now its way past my shoulders and I can feel it on my back, which is a very nice feeling. Does it feel sexy? I don't know if I can say that exactly... but it does make me feel incredibly girly. I like to turn on my airconditioning on HIGH while in my car and sing to a J-Lo song with my hair flowing about. (AC! Not opening the window, because opening the window will cause hair to become one giant tangled mess.) Hmmm... I don't know why I shared that last tidbit of information... but I'm sure you do it too. :P

Isn't this a lovely day to go out in the rain...

Its raining and I'm excited to go out. Although at the moment I have my little ambiance of "coziness" with my little personal heater, a scented candle, and Nat, Dinah, Ella and Getz making their rounds on my winamp as I sit next to my darling window. :) It seems surreal. Shouldn't this be a setting for a movie or some sort? Although the scene isn't perfect seeing that my desk is cluttered with paperwork, leftover valentine envelopes, an unmade bed to my side, and clothes strewn all over the place... but its still quite delicious.

Its Monday! Its Monday! :) Sweet glorious Monday!

After a fairly simple but long teardown Saturday night, Sunday had to be one of the most stressful setups I ever had. It seemed like everything was going wrong... flowers were wilting, the room setup was wrong, coordinators were horrid, the personal flowers had been put in the freezer (so they DIED and smelled like rotten cabbage) so with 40 minutes before the ceremony, we had to re-do the all the bouquets, corsages, and buttonieres... oh my goodness. It was just CRAZY. But fortunantly, everything, despite all the setbacks, came out beautiful AND on time. :) After cleaning up the ceremony, my boss took us out to dinner and we went back to my boss's mom's house to nap before going back and cleaning up the reception since it would be silly to drive back and forth from Chino Hills to Laguna Beach for an hour's rest. I got a nice sleep going on for about 30 minutes until I woke up and realized that I was having a hard time breathing due to the cat that I was allergic to... so I stayed up and watched "RESCUE AT DAWN... THE LOS BANOS RAID" on the History Channel, which was actually really interesting. Nonetheless, I don't think I have been as exhausted as I was last night when I finally got home. Bed never felt so good. Anyways, Carlene, thankfully has put the St. Regis high on her "LIST", so that means that the ever so beautiful Park Plaza will stay as "mine." (because I'm absolutely crazy like that. Are you kidding me... chiavari chairs are STANDARD there!)

Anyways, Carlene and I had a post Valentines lunch with Dad today where afterwards, I drove over to Fullerton to find an EMPTY PARKING LOT. Apparently its President's day or something. They didn't recognize it over at Pomona because class there went well over its allotted 3 hours.

Ahh... but enough whining. I have a nice little break Wedding wise for the next 3 weeks... perrrrrfect. ;)

Saturday, February 14, 2004

La Boheme was terriffic. Actually, it was more than that... it was absolutely beautiful. There were some moments were I was questioning the production, but overall, it was complete eye and ear candy. The sets were just incredible and the music was so powerful that I didn't know I was crying until I blinked and I felt the wetness on my cheeks (what a nice little dramatic line huh.) Anyways, it was my first opera and I totally loved it! :)

Ken and Barbie broke up? What!?! But then again, I'd break up with a guy too if he didn't have a peepee.

Anyways...

Happy Valentines Day Sweet Baboos!

I shall name my new rose plant "Petunia". What a darling Valentine she is...

Well after a very painful "Friday the 13th" where I manged to cut my fingers and make myself bleed on many occasions while at work, it was quite a joy to be able to take some time "off" and play with April and Janelle. After some drinking at Yardhouse in Irvine, the music there was really making us want to get our "groove on," but no one was dancing. So we decided to go to the Crazyhorse, where the first room we walked in had a moble-karaoke-dj and the white woman on the stage was happily entertaining the dancefoor with her version on Beyonce's "Crazy In Love" (Insert snarky remark about white woman karaoking to Beyonce's "Crazy In Love" here)... but things looked up once we found a smaller room that was playing hip hop. Unfortunantly the dj wasn't any better and in fact was playing ENTIRE SONGS. Seriously, I was half expecting a song to end, people to stop dancing, applaud... and the dj would announce "and up next, is Nelly's HOT IN HERR" *cue music* "Hot in... so hot it hurts..." Djs seriously need to learn the art of "remixing." If you can't, then you're not really a dj. You're more like "press play guy."

Aside from the entire song thing, lets talk about a new pet peeve. Guys, do NOT come up to my ear, say "I want you", run your hand down my side and proceed to roll your tongue "RrrRrRRrRRR" in a LOUD and high pitch manner. I will not fall into your arms nor will I say "Right here... right now." I will laugh though. I will laugh and write it down for all to see.

Oh lordy... also when in doubt "side step clap" it white boy. Remember this. It will be your key to hotness. :)

Anyways, all in all, it was a terriffic night to start of Valentines. I've said it once and I'll say it again, Yeah... I'm single. So what? Just as long as I have my terriffic friends and family in my life... its all good. :)

I'm slightly loosing it. Is it Monday yet??

Oh lordy, feeling extremely drained and its only Wednesday! But on the bright side, at least I'm done with school for the week (THANK YOU MONDAY/WEDNESDAY CLASSES!) and even better, I realized that since I don't have to work Saturday morning (Saturday night, on the other hand, is another story) I can "celebrate" an early Valentines on Friday night. :) Can someone say HOT DATE?! I can... ;)

*Note to self* Put lotion in my purse for work. Working with the flowers can really suck the moisture out of my hands.

I've been living off of Cool Ranch Doritos and cans of Dr. Pepper for the last 2 days. I can feel my teeth deteriorate by the minute. Sarah got me a big bag of the Doritos while we were at the Laundromat because she couldn't find a smaller bag and so since I don't have time to pick up lunch or dinner, while driving from work to school, I'll just snack on these damn chips in my car. I think my breath is rancid at the moment and my tongue has lost all ability to actually taste flavor other than "salt" and "cool ranch." I also think I've been eating paint because I was spraypainting today and although I've washed my hands a hundred times, it never seems to come out... so I'm pretty much convinced that the paint on my fingers have been rubbing off onto the chips and into my mouth. Is this why I'm lightheaded now or maybe I'm just tired? Its not like I'm sucking my fingers afterwards because then really... I'd be sucking on paint.

I have paint in my hair. I need to take a shower.

But let me just say that I'm deeply in love with this wonderful conditioner that April "supplied" me with? Oh baby... my hair is totally loving it. Really! I think I've made Carlene pet me several times today and yesterday because I'm so amazed by it. If I see you, I'd tell you to touch my hair and you'd go "Wow Nicole... your hair IS soft! How did you do it!" and I'd have to reply "Paul Brown Hawaii. Thats how."

I wore a mask while spraypainting... but apparently that doesn't stop the fumes from getting to me. :P

Monday, February 09, 2004

I feel like passing out and yet a part of me wants to stay up just to savor this little bit of down time. Plus Conan's in Canada. :) Here's hoping that his guests include Canadians such as Shania Twain, Alan Thicke and the cast of "ANNE OF GREEN GABLES." Jonathan Crombie, I love you... eh.

Wow... I am seriously out of the loop. My cousin JR just told me that Joel is getting married and that he can bowl over 200. Crazy stuff I tell you. Crazy stuff.

Anyways, its been concluded that we're the "good kids" of our generation family-wise. Really. I'm not knocked up, Carlene isn't snorting crack and Nes doesn't have a Tattoo. I like to think that we all have good heads on our shoulders and know better than to do stupid things (other than the whole drinking thing, but really, it isn't THAT bad. Its in our blood? We get it from Tito Romy? Hmmmm.) Not to mention that we can all properly type on the keyboard.

spaznik: next time your parents give you a hard time, you can go "AT LEAST IM NOT IN A GANG!"
TightN10: yea
TightN10: OR
TightN10: at least i had the knowledge
TightN10: to tell her to abort that isht
TightN10: JUS KIDDING
spaznik: oh lordy. I'm making the sign of the cross for you.
TightN10: im kidding
TightN10: geez
TightN10: i always pull out
spaznik: hahahaha good.
TightN10: post that... that's a great line

Yeah... well, really! With the exception of the above, we're the good kids. :)

I finally got to watch THE WAFFLES play tonight. :) And although they lost both their games, it was still exciting just watching Jean, Ryan, Beth, and company do their thing.

I'm no Sporty Spice. I'd probably end up being Baby Spice just for the fact that I'm girly. (or at least I'd hope to think that. Everyone reading is probably shaking their heads in dissagreement and thinking "Baby spice? No... more like a mixture of Scary, Bitch, Skank, and Evil Ho Spice") I can watch sports. Play? No. Just watching the game, I kept on feeling bad for the poor girl that was waaaaay out in left (or right? I don't know) field who had to keep on running after the ball. Sure its just running after a ball, but if you're a slow runner and can't get to that ball fast enough, back at the diamond, they're racking up the points while you're taking your sweet ass time just getting to it. Then you have to throw it to someone... and honestly, you're probably better off meeting me half way and taking it from my hands.

Still, It definitely looked fun, and perhaps if I didn't live so far on the other side of the tracks, and maybe if I weren't so pathetic sports/athletic-wise, then I'd definitely play softball with them. But alas, I do and am... and so this is better for my ego and for them as a team. :)

I think I'll stick to cheering.

Drop it like its HOT!!

It has been a long day. Since we've been on a hiatus from big weddings, it was a sluggish day of everyone trying to get back into the groove of things. I have no idea why it took me so freaking long to finish one table draping, but at least I was in the same boat as everyone else who kept on screaming "Oh my gosh, its been so long!" It's been a long week actually, with so much work just for this one wedding, but since it's for a bride that we all know, my boss's sister who also works on events, it's all worth all the effort and then some. She also had the pretty bouquet that I've ever seen. Seriously. That definitely made my list.

While buying refreshments at my local AM/PM in preparation for tonight's teardown, there was a guy in front of myself, Carlene, and Sonny, who when he turned and made eye contact with me, stared for a bit at my sister and I. Then he looked at me again and asked "Nicole?"

"Yes?"

I had no clue who this guy was.

Carlene looked at him, said "Hi" and with that, he turned and walked away. I later realized that it was a friend of a friend from high school, but was deeply disturbed that he didn't bother to continue with "Hi... Remember me?" or "Hey... Its me! Lets talk about some good times eh?". But no. He said my name and walked away. Huh? What? Don't leave me hanging! What if I never realized who you were... then I'd just be freaked that some random stranger at the AM/PM KNEW my name. Scary.

Speaking of scary, next week's 5 Valentine Weddings extravaganza will be HELL. Hell I say. Hell. I shall be living at the shop surrounded by flowers and chiffon, and as romantic as it may sound, it's far from it when you multiply all that by... oh I don't know. A lot. :)

"I was gonna go out, but i'm feeling crampy."
"Crampy? Is it that time of the month?"
"No..."
"Are you pregnant?? See where kissing can get you!!"

-on the phone with Joe

Last night, after class, I met up with Jean for dinner over at Downtown Disney where afterwards, we went to House Of Blues to watch the "Sexy Apes". (I think it was Apes... I know it was some sort of sexy primate.) Of course, we had no clue who the Sexy Monkeys where nor did we really know the other acts that were playing, but since we saw the crowd and were curious, the security guard was nice enough to slap a wristband onto us and escort us into the venue for *free*. :) That's such a delicious word huh. *Free* Say that and try not to smile.

Anyways, the band had interesting lyrics that I couldn't get out of my head today.

"Hey hey, I want to f*ck you...
I want to f*ck you...
so take your clothes off"

Catchy ain't it.

I remember talking to Ryan a while back where he said that employers usually google potential's names and through that, they may find their blogs, livejournals, xangas, personal websites... etc. I never thought my bosses would find this because right after 1) if they had already, they would told me and tease mercilessly 2) I erased my full name from the site, so it isn't google-able. :) Well, after making a joke about writing in my diary, my boss laughed and admitted today that long long long ago they found this little corner of nerdom of mine and and in their one visit, thought it was cute and funny. (For you dedicated stalkers: I think this was during my "blue/orange/girl on rollerskate" template days.)

I did a mental run to see if I ever said anything embarassing that would shame me for life...

Yeeeeaaaahhhh....

Well, pretty much everything written here is embarassing, so it was nice to know that since they HAD found this loooong ago they decided to keep me in spite my nerdy ways.

Dammit. The rain has stopped and my newly washed car... isn't newly washed anymore. But I guess its good that instead of the remaining dirt combining with the rain and drying into a light layer of crud, it'll be a fresh layer of waterspots waiting for me in the morning.

About last night and the night before...

Oh lordy... what a weekend. :)

After a "sister sister" morning of breakfast at Mimis, gallivanting at Target and getting my car fixed (again), April, Melissa, and I went down to Hollywood Friday night to check out the Beauty Bar. I recommend this place if you like classic rock (I am proud to boast that I knew more than 3 songs that were played there due to Doug's control over the radio at work.) and like watching 70's art films (also could be interpreted as PORN). Anyways, after downing our Martinis getting our henna tattoos done, we walked over to Starshoes, but since that was ridiciously crowded, we walked the 2 blocks (in the drizzle) to Bordners to dance. Bordners was DARK but at least the crowd there was a bit more of "our type" rather than the mixed goth/punk/preppie/hairy/older people at Beauty Bar. Hmmmm what else of entertainment value can I say about Friday night? April made friends on Hollywood Blvd on the way home... one got especially excited that he ran up to the car while at a stop light to say "hi." That was surprising and I got nervous because I didn't want to accidentally roll over his toes or something... but I didn't and everyone got home in tact, so good. :)

Saturday morning, relaxed nicely with a massage courtesy of my mom's massuse and that afternoon went down to Disneyland to see Irene, Mondo, and of course ROBERT "ROLO"!! YAAAAAY!! I also got to meet Ian, Robert's friend, whom I think looked like Petey, but that was only me. Poor Robert had to be dragged onto the roller coaster over at California Disney, but in the end, he liked it. He really liked it. HA! Told you, you wouldn't die! :) What a brave soldier he was.... AND sexy too. Yep. Uh huh. :)

So, last night, April and I met up with Jean, Sakura, Carol, Jill, Vivian, Sukhyung, Manny, Carrie, and PETE *DANCE* HOLIDAY over at Gotham... *good times.* A lot of licking... First of all, let me take back everything I've said about Pete not being able to dance because he has greatly improved since the last time I've seen him dance. (For a white guy even!) :) But it was GREAT seeing him again, aside from him being my hero (cockblock) for the night and doing a damn well job saving the group of girls on the dancefloor from unwanted molestations. So with that, I can happily say that I WANT PETES BABIES. :) And I'm not talking about kidnapping... I thinking like artificial insemination or something. Too bad he couldn't stay longer... Same with Robert. NEXT TIME YOU GUYS NEED TO STAY LONGER AND VISIT MY SIDE OF THE TRACKS!! Or not. There isn't much here. I don't think the Nordstrom Rack will thrill you guys like it does for me.

Anyways, so as usual, there was a lot of dancing and drinking and well... I ended up dancing with a guy and perhaps I had one drink too many...

me: i didnt know what happened... all of a sudden his tongue was in my mouth and in my mind i was all "oh okay... i'm making out with this guy..."
jean: so now can we share drinks?

me: i kept on thinking "i need to stop..."
jean: skankalicious!!!!
me: so then i'd stop...
me: and then his tongue would be in my mouth again!
jean: you're head says yes.. but your lips say.. oh baby oh baby oh baby
me: his tongue was in my mouth 3 TIMES!!!
me: the first time, did someone scream cause i vaguely remember hearing something high pitched nearby...
jean: we all screamed
jean: i know sakura screamed... but that was like a few times after
jean: and it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than 3 times

I normally am not that type of person, and I feel a bit guilty doing so because I knew I was leading him on. But hell, Bel Biv Devoe's POISON was the jam of the moment and when Bel (or Biv... I don't know) sang "Miss her, Kiss her, Love her..." he whispered "Poison" in my ear and I was putty in his hands... OH and it was fun and so why not!?

*cringes in embarassment*

Good times though... Jean was laughing in a collapsed heap on the dancefoor... so I know she had a great time too. Especially after doing her patriotic duty with Vivian and the other girls of serving the Marine boys (who seriously all looked alike. White, crew cut, same build, just with different eyes and noses basically) their drinks. Anyways, really hot night... and it was just straight up FUN just seeing everyone and partying with them. We seriously NEED to do that again... it was great. :)

Which brings me to this morning, where I had to go to church with a mild hangover... which didn't mix well with the flipino choir who apparently, were having an off day. Lunch, washed cars, and now I'm gonna check out who's playing in the Superbowl and determine who I want to win based on their uniform colors. :)

Nice little weekend before back to school and work HELL. :) So thanks to all who made it just lovely.
