Today was an absolutely crazy day. :) My mom decided about a week ago that we really didn't need the spa in the backyard anymore... and it was just a lucky coincidence that when my mom figured this out... my Tito Jerry was here and decided that he wanted a spa. Talk about fate! So, today was the big "move" day. Tito Jerry brought Mark, Myles and 3 of their *strong* homies, as well as some other *strong* friends of his to pick up the spa and bring it over to Moreno Valley. The adventure started at 9am.

Around 9:30, they had the spa out of the concrete slab it was on and up on its side so that they can take it though the side patio area. It was then they discovered the entire bottom of the spa had been a nesting spot for HUNDREDS of spiders. Not like large freaky ones with big fangs that can kill you... but like a ton of itty bitty ones that are just freaky in general.

11:30am- they figure out that the awning over the patio area isn't tall enough to accomodate the spa on its side. They decide to push really hard.

11:55am- the pushing hard tatic didn't work and proceed to take apart the piping. By then, the boys had to leave (work) and so Tito Jerry calls for help in the form of more of his friends from MoVall. While waiting for the replacements, discover that the wood beams over the patio area are too low as well. SO they take those down. OH they also figure out that the spa won't slide through the front gate... so they cut a big gap in the middle the front hedges and take down the fence behind it. I think that if the neighborhood wasn't awaken by the large clan of filipino men talking LOUDLY in the morning, I think the hammering and the sound of the saws did it. Carlene is on the verge of screaming *I TOLD YOU SO* because she had been stating it all morning... and suggested that they should heave the sucker over the fence into the trailer "holding pen" thats behind the house and just have another bunch of guys waiting with the truck there. Either that or airlift it.

2:00pm- OK. They're ready. So its a lot of grunting and pushing and finally... the spa is on its side on my front lawn. Its quite a sight actually. By then there are like 12 guys here all pushing this giant spa onto the back of Mark's Tahoma. I imagine this is how the ancient egyptians built their pyramids... but they probably weren't as loud as this giant gang of filipino men and their sons. Poor Mark is looking freaked by the fact that there's a spa in the back of his truck... which, I might say, the cab isn't very big in the first place. So its truck, spa about 3/4s in the truck... and then spa ass sticking out. I can't say the house looks any better with a huge gap of fence and bush missing from the front, pieces of wood from the patio overhead too the side, the backyard is incredibly muddy and theres spiders crawling all over the place.

3:30pm- They're done! Celebratory late lunch over at the filipino restaurant nearby. Afterwards, Carlene, Adrian, Joseph, Mark, Myles and myself walk over to the board shop where Carlene buys her Birthday gift and the boys ditch us to go get a Hello Kitty boombox at Target. ;) When Carlene and I drive back home... there it is. Truck-Spa in all its glory just chillin on the street. At least when they do get it to Moreno Valley... they'll be able to use it once they get it out of the truck and into their backyard. Ahhhhh... YAY FOR THEM.
