Hmmmm... lets see whats been going on in a nutshell.
Carlene had her portfolio show which was a complete success. What was really nice was the amount of friends and family who came out to support her. Afterwards, we trekked over to BJs for a pizza buffett and some sweet pizookie platters. Spoiled spoiled spoiled... but oh so good.
The company had a lil night of fun for us, so my +1 for the night was Jean. I always hate that YOU PLUS ONE GUEST invite. THere's so much pressure as to who that guest is, what you're going to wear, who's going to buy the bid and pictures... well not really. But it was a whole lot harder when I was in high school. Anyways, the theme was the 50's and while we didn't really win anything in the raffle, I'm always open to free dinner AND free ice cream sundaes.
Some Saturday ago, it was off to Lucky Strike for even MORE celebrating for Carlene's birthday. While I suck at bowling, I suck even more with alcohol. But what great fun with friends and family it was.
I ended up in Mexico for a couple of hours on one of my off days. Let me say, if you're feeling ugly and/or crappy, pretty much Mexcio and a gay bar are probably the 2 main places you should go to get that quick boost of self esteem. Hola. Even better, Sonny is staying the the country for ONE MORE YEAR! Then, its back to Mexico and back to the Hola.

Disco fever outside...
"Don't know why
There's no sun up in the sky
Stormy Weather..."
Boo. I didn't get the promotion. And although I didn't think I would get it, a small part of me was desperately wishing that I was going to beat the odds and win it all. And for a good moment, I seriously thought it was in the stars, but alas it was not. Boo. On the bright side though, I was told that I was on the "right road" to the promotion, but it just wasn't my time. Nonetheless, a rejection is a rejection, and I took confort in a pint of ice cream... and finished it completely. Because as Ryan says, to get to the bottom, you're a winner. And if I can't succeed in work, goodness knows I can win with ice cream. Go me.
Wah.
But wisewords from a billboard near work made me feel better. It said "No man is a failure as long as he as friends." And while I'm NOT a man, nor was I feeling like a failure, my dear friends and family were really great in helping me feel loved and comforted. I think the key thing to remember is "not now" which is WAY better than "not ever" which is good because THAT would suck.
Anyways, so whats up with the weather right now? Its as if there's a strobelight right outside my window and its giving me the heebeegeebees. Today was sunny and lovely, and when I walked out of the house at 8pm today, the ground was wet, there was a slight sprinkle, and it was WARM. Eww.

Happy Birthday to You... cha cha cha.
24 years ago, I was burdened with an twerpy little sister who copied almost everything I did, ruined all the fun, and made a living tattling on me. And of course, it was destiny because now she has grown to be my closest confidant, favorite shopping buddy, bestest friend in the whole wide world.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARLENE!!
:) To my dear most favorite baby sister in the whole wide world... Happy birthday!! I love you!!

So the last couple of days have been pretty eventful. Hmmm, let me think back.
Last Thursday, Kristine and I got to visit the Walt Disney Studios which was super cool. Kristine's godsister let us walk through the parts of the Animation department where we got to see some boards and drawings for a Tinkerbell movie that's in the making as well as the stages where they're filming the new Pirates of the Carribbean sequel. No Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom though. But we were seriously on the lookout for Michael Vartan because right when we walked onto the grounds, we heard a "QUIET ON THE SET", completely freaked out and ran into the studio store. It was there we learned that they were filming "Alias". OoOoo, too bad I haven't see the show, but still pretty exciting. :)
Anyways, so after the day at the studios (where we were breathing the same AIR as Michael Vartan), it was over to Glendale for some a lot of shopping, (I hate it when I have my day off on payday. Its just asking for trouble!) dinner, and off to Hollywood to meet up with Joey and Steph to hopefully see the Duck. But nope, he wasn't there, and after some investigation, we found that our usual spots weren't really happening that night. Luckily we were able to find a nice, chill, red place with some drinking and dancing. All in all, Thursday was a good day. :)

Last night Luc came with Kristine, Ryan and myself to Disneyland and we got to listen to the piano guy (who I just may have a slight crush on at the moment) and do some swing dancing with the big band. OH how I love Luc and his ability to swing dance. That's why he's such the perfect quasi-boyfriend... le sigh.
Anyways, the night was hilarious... you know when you have those nights when everyone is having fun, good somewhat wholesome fun, and you're just loving the people you're surrounded by? Yeah, it was like that with chocolate. :) After the park closed, we strolled to the Bar to meet up with Joey and everyone else since it was Joey's last day *sniff* so we had to celebrate as much as we could before last call. Awww, Joey's leaving, but at least we'll always have the Duck. :)

OH! So yesterday, I was running late, and when I got in, this short woman with a baseball cap and sunglasses approched the desk and asked if there was a special VIP line. I told her that there wasn't, but if she waited a moment, I'd be able to help her out in a second. So she stood there while I was waiting for my system to start...
Me: Ok... ma'am, so how can I help you?
VIP: Yes, I wanted to check in...
Me: Last name?
VIP: Longoria.
Me: (types and thinks) Hmmm, that name sounds familiar...
So, yeah, it was the Desperate Housewife chick. Crazy huh. I totally kept my cool and helped her out... but once I was done, I ran to the back office and started babbling like a loon. I still think its a mirace that I was able to stay calm. My trainee was super excited too and well, nothing like a celebrity sighting on your first week to make you think your job is pretty cool... so Yay for that little bit of motivation there for him.

Its my first time playing matchmaker. So far so good... I think. :)
