Lets have a moment of silence... for my monitor died on me offically yesterday. Its actually kinda funny because the other night, I had a dream that I was sitting in front of it and then all of a sudden, it just sparked and smoke came out of it. So I guess, the spirit of the monitor was coming to me in a dream and saying goodbye... kinda sweet huh... if you believe in that sort of thing.
Argh.
Luckily I found a nice new one @ a reasonable price with a 10% discount at dell.com... free shipping too! So during those 5-7 days, I'll be reverting to those olden day practices and journaling with good ole ink and paper. Gosh.. how savage. :P
Ew... I just wrote out my smiley... colon and a "p". NERD!!
Anyways, I had a nice time last night despite the HUGE let down... where shall I start...
First of all, went to dinner with Carlene and mom. The food was average but the conversation was out of this world. Seriously. Basically, it was a lot of talk about love and marriage... and lets just say that you NEVER imagine you parents having drama... like "my age" drama. Incredible...
After dinner, it was off to LA to pick up Carrie.. and then it was off to the Laugh Factory for some "good times" with my heart of hearts Dane Cook. *sigh* Anyways, I swear... we were SITTING ON THE STAGE!! If I wanted, I could have easily thrown myself on him.. but I didnt... :(
There were some pleasant suprises... the first comedian was Jon Lovitz, who was really cool to see and all because he's a "big" celebrity, but his jokes kinda sucked. The second guy was Bob *Danny Tanner* Saget... Carrie's newest crush. :) Oh my goodness.. he was F*CKING HILARIOUS!! You grow up with his goody goody persona on TV and its just quite a shock to hear him say the things he said. Too funny. Richard Jeni was up next.. who was great too, but he kept on cupping his left hear with his hand and that was just odd.
Anyways, so there we were.. waiting for DANE COOK.. and the host is introducing the FINAL ACT... and so I'm getting pretty... ready to charm him with my oh so adorable laugh... (or so I think) and dreaming of wedding invitations... but then... the host doesnt say his name. Its another comedian!!
WHAT!??
Well... a good majority of the audience was there to see him, so you could totally feel the energy leave the room... which sucked for the last guy. Folks were majorly disappointed that he wasn't Dane... so they just weren't into it anymore. Granted.. he was funny.. but it wasn't the same.
So, although I'm somewhat brokenhearted because I didn't get to see him, the night wasn't a complete bust because the show was still pretty great. Its like coming home from partying at a gay club. You had fun.. you were surrounded by tons of hot shirtless guys... and yet you you feel unfufilled.
OH!! Scott Baio is alive!! Carlene went into a massive giddy fit when we saw him in the club. He had this shirt unbuttoned and was wearing a gold medallion. Thought I'd shared that tid-bit of fascinating information. :)
BTW! Its 2/22!! soooooo...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARRIE!!!
