Although my clock says 12:01am... my body is acting as if its 3:01am. But it has a been a week since I've felt the glow of the monitor against my cheek and so I blog because I'm home and getting back into my routine of nightly addictions.
Florida was HUMID. It was icky, hot, muggy, humid, and gosh darn FUN! :)
Lets start at the very begining....
Arrived in Florida last Wednesday afternoon after spending 5 hours on a plane and 2 quite dramatic hours at LAX. I had spent the night in Long Beach (actually sleeping for a whopping 60 mintues) and Carlene and Michael dropped me off at LAX @ 4:45am. Fortunantly, Armando was right behind me and I didn't have to wait long to get into the line to check in. There was a huge mixup at the ticket counter, but luckily everything had worked out and by the time that happened, it was time to board the plane.
The first 2 hours, I was bright, chipper, and actually quite chatty.... the remainder of the flight, the lack of sleep caught up to me and I knocked out. ( I didn't even partake in the Southwest snack of fruitsnacks, cheese crackers, and oreos.) I woke up when the "I think he's drunk" pilot start swerving like mad and had missed his first attempt to land in Orlando. Anyways, we made it on the ground, got our luggage, met up with Alice, and we all faced the humidity.
OH MY GOSH. Let me elaborate for a second on the humidity over in Florida. Its like the Philippines... its hot, muggy, sticky, and just makes you wanna walk with your arms akimbo while repeatly going "blahhh blahh blahhh." Its like you are in the palm of a giant's hand... and the giant is breathing open mouthed over you.
Anyways, I guess we had this look of "ultimate lost tourist" on us, because this taxi guy offered to help us out... and he did after we all exchanged looks of utter confusion on what would be the right choice and if we should trust this stranger.... but we did, and he took us to our hotel. The Doubletree Club in Lake Buena Vista. :) This hotel was GREAT... it was bright, it was happy, it had pinapples on the side of it... it looked as if Marth Stewart had one to many margaritas and went shitface on the decor.
After settling in and watching some "disney channel", we dedicided to make the most of our DAY 1. So we walkeded on over to the Macroni Grill that was some blocks away from our hotel... and then walked off our dinner by going to Downtown Disney.
The Downtown Disney in Orlando seriously puts the Anaheim one to shame. Mondo, Alice and myself were just oohing and ahhing over everything (and ran through some fountains). All my senses were in playful overload. It seemed like there was so much to look at and not enough time to experience it all. After walking through 2 of the 3 sections of Downtown Disney, we watched SIGNS there, (oh my goodness, talk about traumatizing!!) and walked back to our Copacobana. By 1am-ish, Manny arrived at our hotel, but I couldn't play much due to the fact that I had gotten sick the night before leaving at home. (something about sleeping with the fan on... blahh)
8am, Thursday morning, we all woke up in order to be bright eyed and ready for our 9:15 shuttle to EPCOT. I was a happy camperette. It all hit me right then and there... I WAS IN FLORIDA!(imagine oboxious nerdy dance that involved some high pitched yelping and jumping up and down for maximum effect)
EPCOT was absolutely so much fun! (even if the damn parade was cancelled and there was no ride in Norway:() The funny thing that I had noticed was the crazy amount of alcohol sold there. Along with your usual thirst quenchers such as coke, sprite, bottled watter... you can get (plastic) bottled beer at refreshment stands. And in the world showcase, they sell the whatever the certain nation's "alcohol"... so after our lunch in Moracco (where Alice and I actually dared to taste the food... yum!), we walked back to France and had some dessert and wine. (ooh la la. ;))
Oh, by the way, convinced that Disney kidnapped their workers for the world showcase. Hence the charming accents that matched and accompanied the country... as well the sour and not quite delightful disposition.
There was this one brass band show (with gay dancers... not a sarcastic comment, its a fact.) that we had watched in the USA (we sell smirnoff and sky blue as the country's alcohol) portion of EPCOT, and the guys in it were DAMN hot. ;) Oh.... the actual firework show too was pretty amazing too....
That night, went to Pleasure Island for some WICKED clubbing. Pleasure Island is part of Downtown Disney... but its only 18+. So you pay... and you have access to 8 different clubs. It was soooo GREAT! We mst up with Jean, Sakura, Carrie, Megan, Pic, and the other kids who arrived earlier for the LSSP and danced amid the HOT guys. (I KID YOU NOT. THERE ARE SOME HOOOOOOTT GUYS IN FLORIDA. Yes... nicole was a very happy camperette.) This time, we didn't walk back and everyone ended up at our hotel for some catching up. :)
The next morning, got a very rude wakeup call in the form of a fire alarm...
"where were we? ahh yes... "
Day 3. Finally got out of bed and ready, and Mondo, Alice, and myself went over to Magic Kingdom where almost all the rides we rode on stalled on us. Ok. DISNEYLAND is WAAAAAYYY better. They don't have Indiana Jones nor the Matterhorn! But we still had fun. Had the bejesus scared out of me after this one "ALIEN ENCOUNTER" ride that involved something feeling like it was licking my neck. *shudder* You gotta love those fast track tickets... :)
*after going on 20 second Goofy roller coaster:
Mondo: (looking at the kids in line) Its not worth it.
The funniest thing happen at Mickey's toontown. We were in line to meet Mickey Mouse and there was this kid in front of us who at first was happy to meet him. But once our group got inside the room, he started worring. Then, when it was his turn to meet the mouse, he went absolutely ballistic- screaming, kicking, crying bloody muder... and to make it worse.. his parents were pushing and forcing him to take the picture. Poor kid... it was too funny though. It was kinda like me when Mondo wanted to go on the teacups dragged me kicking and screaming for help with my bookbag to the line.... but at least I won. ;P
That night, Alice and I went back to Pleasure Island with Billings, and met up with Luc. *party party!*
Saturday morning, DAY 4, our room is now completely full with Manny, Armando, Ryan, Joe, Alice and myself. And though the wait line for the bathroom was pretty long, it wasn't so bad... we later checked out and had breakfast at the IHOP next door were we sat in the worst non-smoking area. (I always forget that its California that has the NO SMOKING ANYWHERE law)
waitress at IHOP: Can I get you anything?
Joe: *under his breath* An airfilter.
The 6 of us with 14 pieces of luggages took a taxi to the Carrbe Royal, the offical ICON hotel. (Oh... let me add that I had completely forgotten ICON and my purpose of going to Florida in the first place due to the oodles of fun I was having at Disney... :)). This hotel is sooooooooooooooooo gorgeous! Lucky Jean, Tanya, Kieu, Sakura, Joe, Ryan, Sean and I got our villa, so our suite was really nice. (complete with 2 bedrooms, a complete kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 2 queen, 1 king, 1 sofabed, 3 tvs, 3 phones, a dining area, a stereo system, AND a hottub. :) AhhHhhhhhh... luxury.
Anyways, settled in, worked on some campaign stuff for Carrie and then... it was OPENING SESSION! 1000 crazy and loud CKI'ers al cheering and happy... it was soo great! The entertainment for the night was the "Dating Doctor" which I think may have encouraged many to go out on this "hook up" frenzy. After the session, I finally ran into Mr. Pete Holiday (DANCE!!!) went back to Pleasure Island with Luc, Petey, Tracy, Lauren, and Jordan (who completely suprised me by knowing all the lyrics to Michael Jackson's PYT... and danced to it!). We got some cool free cups from Mario, our waitor at Denny's who taunted me and kept on forgetting about me ;P and we made a lot of smart remarks caucus porn (Debbie Does Caucus) and petey's dolphins and 25 cent flavored water.
DAY 5 consisted mainly of walking with Carrie for her campaign. :) Carrie knew her shit and well she blew them all away. I was her offical water girl, as well as literature passer-outter. That night, it was the Govenors Gala, were Cal-Nev-Ha probably annoyed everyone with our excitment and zealous cheers, and then we all freaked the night away at the dance. Anyways, after the dance, I met Ryan (take it off, give me a hug and I'll give you a lei) from Ohio, who invited us to a party over at the Ohio District room where the theme was "hugs and kisses." They had hershey kisses around the room and had filled their hottub with these bottled sugar watered drinks called "hugs." It was SOOOOOOOOO insane... hahahahaha.. who would have thought that sugar water could be so much fun! :) It was like a weird sober GIRLS GONE WILD/FRAT PARTY with koolaid like drunks... Kids chanting "chug-a-hug" as well as "O-HI-O", and we can't forget the wicked dancing that Alice, Luc, Petey, Manny and myself started there....Well, we made some friends over there.. ;P
DAY 6 slept in during the day, where I missed the House of Delegates. Mostly worked with Carrie again on her campagin and then it was caucus time once again. This time though it was RAINING like mad outside and everyone was soaked. I think it was by that day, I had completely lost my voice and was feeling really crappy due to the rain. FORTUNANTLY, the rain stopped by the time the caucus and our district meeting session was over... so Joe, Luc, Petey went back to Pleasure Island for some clubbing, got a late dinner at McDonalds, and then went back to our villa... where we had our very own birthday party for Ryan.
*kenny wearing his LTG: LIKES TOUCHING GIRLS shirt*
Ryan: Take off your jacket Kenny. Its my birthday!
We even got some LA-MISS-TEN peeps there... (um... it was Joe's fault for his sarcastic comment on a big party in CNH!) We also comtemplated ways on how we can be more "ghetto" for the upcoming HOD. *ahhhh shhiiiiit*
Tuesday was our last offical day... woke up in time for the club awards session (where our district totally ROCKED), and then it was the final House of Delegates (YAY CARRIE AND YAY PIC!) where 2 Kiwanians serenaded us with their version of Atlantic Starr's ALWAYS, a celebratory dinner with Carrie, Megan, and John (that was after contemplating if the lighting and rain might kill us...but it didnt. It was soo creepy, outside our hotel, we could see the rain swirling around in this hurricane motion! ), and then the closing session were we got DISTINGUISHED DISTRICT! One more dance (were we located our new Ohio buddies and got buck wild with them.. oh wait.. we got buck wild with everyone!!) And then another mini party in our villa were Chris Anderson freaked me out with his games and his making out with people's fingers, new friends from the Southwest district who came by (made Joe very happy) and my attempting to blackmail Scott to crank call some rooms that didn't happen. ;P I had about an hours sleep that morning... and by the time I woke up.. it was time to go to the airport.
The ride back home was entertaining? I got my window seat (YAY) but at first it was really sucky because there was condensation from the airconditioning that was falling from the ceilling right above my seat. But once in the air, it stopped. OH!! but also, I sat next to Joe who wanted to break my CDS for some odd reason, and behind me sat Mondo who proceeded to hit my seat everytime I was just about to get comfortable. I was being bullied from all corners... :( Luckily, I seperated from them over in Phoenix were I immediently knocked out on my flight to Ontario. I woke up when the little girl sitting in front of me started screaming for her dog "Rawley" outside the window. :) Too cute. Got to Ontario in shape, and found Keri and Tre waiting downstairs for me in the terminal. :) YAY Big thanks to Keri for picking me up... and keeping me updated on the happenings of AMERICAN IDOL. ;)
*some random stuff that I couldn't fine places to fit in*
-In all my 4 days at the Caribe Royale, althought they had continental breakfast, I didn't eat it. In fact, I didn't eat much while on vacation which is VERY weird because when usually on vacation, its all eating. Weirdness. I had probably one meal every day... and I was fine with it.
-As you can tell, everynight did some sort of dancing... either Pleasure Island's Motions or a dance at ICON.... definitely a weird thing was that each and everynight I danced, they ALWAYS played this COTTON EYED JOE hick/techno song that I sorta began to like. :) Oh lets not forget ITS GETTING HOT IN HEEEERRR
-I don't know if I mentioned it, but although there were HOT guys in Florida (and the my guy friends say that there were some hot girls there too)... NO ONE COULD DANCE TO THE BEAT TO SAVE THEIR LIVES. Folks would be in these giant circle of freakiness... and it was just ugly and awkward and it looked like everyone was bouncing. But it still was a lot of fun... and hey... the guys were HOT. (to that one guy in red and blue stripes on thursday night.... DAMMIT!!)
So... that was my trip. From LAX to Orlando... and from Orlando to Ontario. :) It was a BLAST! Soooooooooooooo much freaking fun! Im just really sad because 1) *duh* its over and 2) dumbass me was just being really lazy with my camera and didn't take as many pictures as I had wanted to. Argh... But anyways, it definitely was a *goodtime* Got to meet new people, get closer with the people I already knew, see the sights, didn't get bitten by a mosquito... and all I can say is: whoooohooo!! lets do it again!
